Accreditation Statements:

The Kelowna General Hospital Medical Staff Grand Rounds is a self-approved group learning activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.

This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the British Columbia Chapter for up to 10 Mainpro+® credits.

Objectives: After the completion of this program, participants will be able to:

1. Identify the indications and contraindications for new modalities in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of specific medical conditions.
2. Formulate prioritized differential diagnoses for the clinical presentations of specific medical conditions, diagnoses, and diseases.
3. Apply clinical guidelines to their patients with an understanding of the rationale behind the guidelines and the expected outcomes of specific medical conditions, diagnoses, and diseases.
4. Integrate research techniques related to specific medical conditions, diagnoses, and diseases, into their own clinical, translational or basic science research.
